Hong Kong, February 7, 2025 – Uganda’s national cricket team, the Cricket Cranes, showcased an outstanding performance to secure a 52-run victory over Bahrain in the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground. The win solidifies Uganda’s position at the top of the standings with 11 points, ahead of Italy and Hong Kong, China, who each have 9 points.

Batting first, Uganda set a competitive total of 249/9 in 50 overs, led by an exceptional 85-run knock from Raghav Dhawan, supported by captain Riazat Ali Shah (49) and Robinson Obuya (43). Bahrain’s bowling attack, led by Imran Khan (3/46) and Imran Anwar (2/40), managed to claim wickets, but Uganda’s depth in batting ensured a strong total.
In response, Bahrain struggled against Uganda’s disciplined bowling attack. Juma Miyaji produced a match-winning spell of 4/53, dismantling Bahrain’s top order, while Cosmas Kyewuta (2/26) and Bilal Hassan (2/42) added crucial breakthroughs. Despite a resilient 83-run effort from Asif Ali, Bahrain was bowled out for 197 in 44.1 overs.
