African football is ready to light up European screens, and the rhythm is unmistakable. As winter settles across the continent, the pulse of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 will beat loudly from stadiums in North Africa to living rooms across Europe. In a landmark broadcast breakthrough, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has unveiled a record-setting network of European media partnerships that will carry Africa’s flagship tournament to millions of fans beyond its shores.
CAF has secured 20 broadcast agreements spanning more than 30 European territories, marking the most expansive European media footprint in AFCON history. The tournament, which kicks off on Sunday, 21 December 2025, will benefit from unprecedented accessibility, reinforcing AFCON’s growing global stature and its rising commercial and cultural appeal. This expansion signals a decisive shift in how African football is consumed, celebrated, and valued on the world stage.
At the heart of this momentum is a blend of strategic innovation and diaspora connection. Following the groundbreaking agreement with Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, where all 52 matches will air free-to-air for the first time—CAF has added heavyweight partners across the continent. Spain’s Movistar joins the lineup, leveraging deep football ties and a strong Moroccan community, while Greece’s ERT and Norway’s VGTV will return AFCON to free-to-air television, opening new doors to nationwide audiences long underserved.
Elsewhere, established broadcasters are set to amplify the spectacle even further. Sport Italia and Ziggo Sport, buoyed by strong performances in previous editions, are poised to grow viewership in Italy and the Netherlands, countries enriched by vibrant Moroccan communities and AFCON stars. SportDigital continues its reach across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, while a diverse roster of partners, from Portugal to Poland, the Balkans to the Baltics, underscores AFCON’s truly pan-European resonance.
As 24 teams prepare to contest 52 matches across nine Moroccan stadiums, AFCON 2025 is shaping up to be more than a tournament, it is a shared continental experience. Facilitated by CAF’s global media partner IMG, these broadcast alliances ensure that Africa’s stories, skills, and songs will travel far and wide. When the first whistle blows on 21 December, it will not only signal the start of a competition, but the echo of African football finding a louder, prouder voice across Europe.
