Cricket Uganda has announced a one-year extension of Evelyn Kabongerwa Biribonwa Shinyekwa’s term as Acting Chief Executive Officer, recognizing her exceptional leadership and vision for the sport. As the first woman to hold the role, Evelyn is shattering glass ceilings and paving the way for future generations of female cricketers.

With over 20 years of experience in financial management, governance, and organizational development, Evelyn brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Her impressive track record includes senior roles at Cricket Uganda, Business Synergies, and RSM Eastern Africa, among others.
During her extended tenure, Evelyn will focus on modernizing Cricket Uganda’s systems, expanding grassroots pathways for young talent, and enhancing Uganda’s competitiveness on the international stage. “I look forward to building a stronger, more efficient, and inclusive cricket system,” she said.
Cricket Uganda chairman Jackson Kavuma praised Evelyn’s appointment, citing her integrity, experience, and vision as key factors in unlocking Uganda’s full cricketing potential. “She is a world-class sports administrator who will help galvanize and reinvigorate cricket in Uganda,” he said.
