The motorsport community in Uganda gathered in unity today for the official launch of the RR Memorial Rally 2025, the 6th round on the FMU (Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda) calendar. The event was launched at Somewhere Else, marking the start of a rally held in loving memory of Rajiv Ruparelia, a passionate motorsport enthusiast, rally driver, and dedicated patron of the Central Motor Club (CMC) the organisers of this tribute rally in Gulu city.

Rajiv, fondly remembered for his fearless driving and unwavering support for the motorsport fraternity, left a lasting impact on Uganda’s rallying scene. As a club patron of CMC, his energy, time, and resources contributed immensely to the sport’s growth and community. The RR Memorial Rally 2025 is not just another round in the championship — it’s a celebration of Rajiv’s life and legacy.
“He will be remembered always,” said Reynold Kibira, Secretary of FMU, while reflecting on Rajiv’s contributions. “He served the sport with passion and supported it in every way possible. Motorsport will remember him — with speed.”
Also paying tribute was Enock Leroy Olinga, Rajiv’s former co-driver, who now steps into the role of Clerk of the Course for this event. Olinga praised Rajiv’s brave and fast-paced driving style. They shared unforgettable moments in cockpit.
The rally officially begins on Thursday, October 9th, with scrutineering and a ceremonial start in the evening.
Friday, October 10th – Day 1 Stages:
- Noblakes Stage – 15.01km
- Wobbly Stage – 27.42km
- Rajiv Ruparelia Super Special Stage – 1.96km x 2 laps
Saturday, October 11th – Day 2 Stages:
- Noblakes Stage – 15.01km
- Rajiv Ruparelia Stage – 18.05km (will also serve as Power Stage)
- Pink Panther Stage – 13.26km
- David Ocayo & KCB Stage – 12.12km
This year’s rally covers a total of 123.26 competitive kilometres, with an overall rally distance of 240.99 kilometres.
The RR Memorial Rally 2025 is made possible through the generous support of sponsors who continue to stand with the motorsport community, including: RR Rally Team, Ruparelia Group, Uganda Tourism Board, Segamu 14, KCB, Gulu Made, Acholi Inn, SMK Tyres, and Plascon.
As the engines roar and dust rises, the rally will serve as a moving tribute to a man whose life was defined by speed, passion, and commitment to the motorsport family.
