The 2025 CAVB Zone V Volleyball Club Championship has received a significant boost with Jibu Water stepping in as the official hydration partner. The tournament, set to take place from February 26th to March 4th, 2025, in Kampala, Uganda, will now benefit from 2000 liters of water provided by Jibu Water. This development was confirmed following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the company’s headquarters.

Jibu Water’s head of marketing and communications, Brenda Kembabazi Senyonga, emphasized the importance of hydration in sports and expressed the company’s commitment to supporting the tournament. “Water is a key component in sports and life in general. We are humbled to contribute significantly with 2000 liters for the entire tournament, providing 20 gallons for each running day of the championship,” she remarked. The tournament’s local organizing committee chairperson, Joseph Odong, signed the MOU on behalf of the Uganda Volleyball Federation, accompanied by marketing delegate Joseph Collins Ssemanda.
Odong expressed his gratitude for the partnership, highlighting the significance of Jibu Water’s support. “This is a step in the right direction. We are honored to receive the water that will refresh our players and officials throughout the championship. We look forward to a solid working relationship with Jibu Water even after the Zone V championship ends,” he stated. Jibu Water now joins a host of other sponsors, including the Government of Uganda, Uganda Olympic Committee, Uganda Police, and various corporate partners.
The championship, now in its third edition, will feature top volleyball clubs from 12 Zone V countries, including Kenya, Rwanda, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Uganda. Previous editions were held in 2019 and 2023, with champions such as Gisagara Volleyball Club and Rwanda National Police claiming victory. This year’s tournament will be hosted at Lugogo Indoor Arena and Old Kampala Sports Arena, with 20 teams already confirmed to participate, including Kenya Pipeline Company, Cobra Sports Club, and UCU Doves.
A dedicated local organizing committee led by Zone V president Sadik Nasiwu is overseeing preparations to ensure a successful event. Key members include referee delegate Innocent Komakech, marketing head Joseph Collins Ssemanda, and media delegate Danny Okwee. The technical aspects will be managed by Ibrahim Bizimana from Tanzania, with Joseph Will from South Sudan presiding over the control committee. The 2025 Zone V Volleyball Championship promises thrilling competition, further strengthened by Jibu Water’s vital contribution to athlete hydration and tournament success.
