Kampala City Beach Soccer Club etched their name in the history books on Sunday evening after lifting their first-ever national beach soccer title at the scenic Bamboo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena in Kasanje. In a tightly contested final, Kampala City BSC outclassed a determined Mutoola BSC side with a 2-0 victory, thanks to crucial third-period goals from Ambrose Kigozi and Joshua Leti Lubwama.

The highly anticipated final brought together top beach soccer enthusiasts, with key football dignitaries in attendance. Uganda Beach Soccer Association Chairman Deo Mutabazi, FUFA Youth Football Development Officer Bashir Mutyaba, and FUFA Director of Football Development Ali Mwebe all graced the closing ceremony, underscoring the growing importance of the sport in Uganda’s football development agenda.
Earlier in the third-place playoff, St. Lawrence University BSC claimed the bronze medal with a hard-fought 2-1 win over MUBS BSC. Sharif Lubega’s commanding display proved decisive for St. Lawrence, while Yakole Talib netted a consolation goal for MUBS in a spirited contest.
The tournament also celebrated individual excellence, with standout players and teams earning recognition. Mutoola BSC’s Peter Mukwata was named the Most Valuable Player, while Kampala City BSC’s Ivan Kulika won Best Coach. Omedwa Rojers Omedwa, also of Kampala City BSC, took home the Best Goalkeeper award. Joseph Ssendi of Buganda Royal finished as the tournament’s top scorer with an impressive 30 goals, and the Fair Play Award went to Mengo Hill BSC.
In the semi-final rounds leading to the final, Mutoola BSC dispatched MUBS BSC 6-3, while Kampala City edged past St. Lawrence University BSC in a thrilling 4-3 encounter. The 2025 edition of the tournament highlighted the growing competitiveness of beach soccer in Uganda, setting the stage for an even more thrilling season ahead.
