The 27th edition of the prestigious Kinyara Golf Open has officially teed off at the lush Kinyara Golf Club in Masindi, drawing more than 150 golfers from Uganda and across the region. The three-day tournament, running from November 13 to 15, 2025, promises a thrilling showcase of skill and precision as professionals, amateurs, and senior golfers compete for glory and impressive cash prizes.

This year’s championship has attracted a formidable field, including reigning Uganda Amateur Open Champion Joseph Cwinya-ai, alongside seasoned contenders Andrew Ssekibejja and Titus Okwong. With registration numbers already surpassing 100 and expectations soaring toward 200 participants, the Kinyara Open is set to be one of the largest golfing events on the national calendar.
The competition features several categories, each offering lucrative rewards. The professionals will contest 54 holes for a grand prize of UGX 10 million, while the Men’s Amateur Gross category offers UGX 4 million to the winner. The Ladies’ Gross champion will walk away with UGX 3 million, alongside recognition in the Seniors and Subsidiary categories that ensure inclusivity across all levels of play.
Kinyara Sugar Limited continues to champion the sport’s growth through strong partnerships with leading insurance companies. Notably, ICEA LION Uganda and Liaison Group have each contributed UGX 30 million, with Sanlam and Kinyara Golf Club adding UGX 10 million apiece to the sponsorship pool—demonstrating the corporate community’s growing investment in Ugandan golf.
The action-packed schedule will see professionals and gross players compete on November 13–14, culminating in the final round on November 15. With fairways primed and stakes high, the 2025 Kinyara Golf Open promises an electrifying weekend of golf excellence, camaraderie, and sportsmanship at its finest.
