Knockouts, Engines, and Legends: Fortebet Honors Uganda’s Sporting Elite

In a vibrant celebration of sporting excellence, Fortebet Uganda, in partnership with Jude Color Solutions, hosted its monthly awards ceremony on August 5, 2025, at Lazio Restaurant in Kampala. The event recognized top-performing athletes and sports administrators whose exceptional contributions stood out in July, drawing an audience that included sports dignitaries and media personalities.

Yusuf “Chuni” Kyeyune

Taking center stage was Yusuf “Chuni” Kyeyune, a revered figure in Ugandan football, who was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievers accolade. With a career spanning over 40 years, Kyeyune’s journey from a dynamic player at clubs like City Cubs, Wandegeya, and Express, to his leadership as a technical director at SC Villa, earned him the nation’s respect. “I’m humbled to have been rewarded with this award,” Kyeyune stated emotionally, reflecting on a legacy built through decades of dedication.

In the boxing ring, Frank Kiwalabye delivered a defining moment in July when he knocked out Tanzania’s Karim Kisairo to claim the WBU World Super Bantamweight Title. His performance earned him the boxing award, and he used the platform to set his sights higher. “I yearn for more accolades, and my target is to win the WBA,” said Kiwalabye, who also extended gratitude to his sponsors, media, and management team for their continued support.

The roar of engines also echoed through the ceremony as rally duo Ponsiano Lwakataka and Paul Musaazi, known as “Team Mafu-Mafu,” clinched the motorsport award. Their victory in the thrilling Bwera-Bistro Masaka Challenge Rally showcased their dominance on the tracks. “I’m glad for the support of all the people and my sponsors,” Lwakataka said, crediting teamwork and commitment for their triumph.

The ceremony was a reminder of the growing recognition and reward for Uganda’s sports talent. Winners received cash prizes and trophies, reinforcing the commitment by Fortebet and Jude Color Solutions to uplift the country’s sports sector. The event was graced by key stakeholders, including Real Stars Sports Agency CEO Mukaaa Isaac and Henry Zzimbe of Jude Color Solutions, making it a night to remember for Uganda’s champions.
