In a landmark moment for Ugandan football, Linglong Tire’s Executive Director, Mr. Wang, paid an enthusiastic visit to Sports Club Villa, the record holders of the Uganda Premier League. The reception, held at the Mandela Group grounds in Kampala’s Industrial Area on Saturday evening, underscored Linglong’s commitment to the club’s growth. Mr. Wang reaffirmed his unwavering support for SC Villa, expressing his dedication to fostering their success, just as Linglong supports global football giants like Real Madrid.
SC Villa fans turned out in large numbers, radiating joy and unity as they welcomed Mr. Wang and his delegation. The supporters’ chairperson, Dr. Ssenyayi Kasim, lauded Linglong’s trust in the club and urged the fans to stand firm in their devotion. “This visit reflects Linglong’s unwavering belief in our potential,” Dr. Kasim noted. “We, the fans, play a pivotal role in energizing the team, and our collective strength will help SC Villa reclaim its glory.”
The club’s CEO, William Nkemba, echoed this gratitude, highlighting the enduring partnership between SC Villa and Linglong Tire. Meanwhile, Dr. Kasim candidly acknowledged the cost of past indiscipline that denied the club its 18th league title. “We’ve learned valuable lessons from our setbacks,” he said. “Discipline will be our cornerstone moving forward, ensuring our ambitions align with the club’s values.”
Despite finishing the first round in eighth place, 14 points behind table-toppers Vipers SC, SC Villa remains optimistic. With Linglong Tire’s backing and a united fan base, the club is poised for a promising resurgence in the second half of the season.
