The USSSA Ball Games II Championship kicked off in style at St. Peters College School and Tororo Girls School in Tororo District, delivering electrifying futsal action and remarkable talent. Among the standout performances, Greater Mukono region champions, Mukono Kings, stamped their authority with a commanding 4-1 victory over St. Francis SS Busunju.

St. Francis Busunju initially looked the brighter side, taking an early lead through a brilliant finish from Talemwa Collins. But Mukono Kings responded with composure and class, with Afeku Patrick leveling the score just before halftime. The second half belonged entirely to the Mukono side, who launched an all-out assault that saw Kato Antonio, Mukisa Daniel, and Geno Mathius each find the back of the net.

Speaking after the match, Mukono Kings’ head coach, Shafiq Mudholo, praised his team’s tactical discipline and praised the USSSA for integrating futsal into the championship. “Futsal is not just about fitness, it’s about quick decisions and sharp skills. I’m proud of the boys and grateful to the school and the federation for their support,” he noted.

Elsewhere, Kakungulu Memorial impressed with a solid 2-0 win over St. Marks College Namagoma, courtesy of a clinical brace from Nsereko Frank. Meanwhile, Seroma Christian High School and Kyadondo SS played out a thrilling 3-3 draw, with Ongera Stephen netting twice for Seroma, and Joseph Junior Jude bagging a brace for Kyadondo in a pulsating encounter.

As day one wraps up, fans can expect more high-octane action and rising stars in the days ahead. With schools battling for supremacy and regional pride on the line, the USSSA Ball Games II Championship is proving to be a showcase of raw talent, grit, and unforgettable moments.
