Makkah – The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly endorsed the resolutions adopted at the Extraordinary Arab Summit, known as the “Palestine Summit,” as outlined in the Cairo Statement. The organization emphasized its full support for measures aimed at protecting Palestinian rights and countering the Israeli occupation’s continued violations.
In an official statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, reaffirmed the League’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause. He stressed the need to uphold the Palestinian people’s right to freedom, dignity, and independence, while condemning Israel’s policies that contradict international legitimacy. The MWL also firmly rejected any form of forced displacement or territorial annexation of Palestinian land.
“We categorically reject any attempt to displace the Palestinian people from their land under any name, circumstance, justification, or claim,” Dr. Al-Issa declared. He further emphasized that all peace efforts must be centered on justice and the full restoration of Palestinian rights.
The statement underscored the importance of fully implementing the ceasefire agreement’s second and third phases to ensure lasting stability. It highlighted the efforts of the international coalition, led by Saudi Arabia through the Joint Arab-Islamic Committee, to advance the two-state solution as a viable path to peace.
Concluding its statement, the MWL called for an immediate halt to hostilities in Lebanon and denounced Israel’s military strikes on Syria, warning of the broader consequences of escalating regional conflicts. The League reiterated its commitment to securing a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative, urging the international community to stand firm in supporting Palestinian sovereignty.
