Soroti, Uganda — The 2025 edition of the Sky View Girls’ Schools Cricket Week delivered a sensational spectacle, with Olila High School reigning supreme after an unbeaten run. The defending champions played with admirable consistency, winning all nine of their matches to clinch their fourth national title in style.

Light Secondary School emerged as worthy contenders, finishing as the runners-up. One of the standout moments of the tournament came in their nail-biting clash against Sacred Heart Secondary School, where Light SS edged out victory by just two runs. The match was fittingly crowned the “Most Dramatic Match” of the competition.
In the grand finale, Olila High School faced off against Light SS in what promised to be a tense showdown. Batting first, Light SS faltered early, with six players dismissed for ducks. Despite Judith Iroo’s effort of 11 runs and 15 extras, they could only muster 47 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Olila’s bowlers, particularly Immaculate Nandera, were clinical and composed under pressure.
Olila High School’s response wasn’t without stumbles, but opener Ariago anchored the innings with an unbeaten 22, steering her team to victory with five wickets to spare. The match’s hero, however, was undoubtedly Immaculate Nandera, who delivered a masterclass in bowling. Her remarkable spell of 7 wickets for just 7 runs in 3.4 overs earned her the “Player of the Final” accolade.
Nandera’s dominance didn’t end there—she was also crowned the “Most Valuable Player” of the tournament with 19 wickets, 44 runs, and four Player of the Match awards. Other individual standouts included Sarah Tino of Light SS as both “Best Bowler” (19 wickets) and “Best Fielder” (13 dismissals), Mary Namiiro of Jinja SS as “Best Batter” (197 runs), and Clare Ajego of Light SS as “Best Wicketkeeper” with 12 dismissals. The week was a celebration of talent, grit, and sportsmanship, firmly cementing Olila High’s legacy in school cricket.
