The Electoral Commission of S.C.
Villa has officially declared Mr. Omar Ahmed Hussein as the club’s new President following a successful vetting and approval process. The announcement, issued at the club’s headquarters on Sixth Street in Kampala’s Industrial Area, confirmed that Hussein emerged as the sole candidate for the position, paving the way for his unopposed election to lead one of Uganda’s most historic football institutions.
According to the statement released by the Commission, Hussein underwent the required verification procedures in line with Regulation 22(6) of the S.C. Villa Regulations. After completing the vetting process, his candidacy was formally approved by the club’s Board of Trustees, clearing the final hurdle before the Electoral Commission could communicate its decision to the wider club membership.
The Commission further explained that no other candidate had been validly nominated for the presidency during the nomination period. As a result, and in accordance with the club’s electoral guidelines, Hussein was declared the duly elected President without the need for a competitive vote among members.
Hussein will serve a five-year term at the helm of the club, a tenure that many supporters hope will usher in renewed stability and progress for the record Ugandan football champions. His leadership comes at a time when the club continues to focus on strengthening its administrative structure and competitive ambitions within domestic and regional football.
The declaration was formally issued in Kampala on March 10, 2026, and signed by the Chairperson of the Electoral Committee, Brian Kajubi. With the official confirmation now in place, Hussein is expected to begin steering the club’s strategic direction as S.C. Villa prepares for the next phase of its sporting and organizational journey.
