
Pascal Murungi, the former Under-19 captain and Uganda A captain in the last Pearl of Africa Series, has been suspended from all cricket-related activities for three years.
The Disciplinary Committee found him guilty of engaging in acts that compromised or had the potential to compromise the integrity of the game, following a hearing at Lugogo on December 18, 2025.

Murungi, an all-rounder, was a key player in Uganda’s cricket scene, and his suspension reflects Cricket Uganda’s commitment to upholding the values of the sport. The organization remains dedicated to ensuring accountability and protecting the reputation of cricket in Uganda
The ICC Anti-Corruption Code prohibits various offenses, including spot-fixing, match-fixing, and failing to report corrupt approaches. Murungi’s suspension serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining integrity in cricket.
