South Africa’s Spar Proteas delivered a ruthless performance, outclassing Uganda’s She Cranes 56-34 to successfully defend their Africa Netball Championship title. The reigning champions dominated from the opening whistle, racing to a 15-7 lead in the first quarter.

Uganda struggled to find their rhythm, with key shooter Shadia Nassanga neutralized by South Africa’s stingy defense. The Proteas’ intensity and physicality proved too much, and they extended their lead to 27-16 at halftime.

The second half was a procession, with South Africa stretching their advantage to 17 goals and closing the third quarter 43-26 up. Uganda’s fatigue showed, and they couldn’t match the Proteas’ pace and skill.
South Africa sealed the win in style, winning 56-34 and retaining the title they won last year in Namibia. It’s another impressive victory over the She Cranes, following their 65-50 win in the 2024 final.
The Proteas’ dominance was clear, and Uganda’s silver medal is a testament to their strong campaign.
