Ssebuguzi Crowned 2025 National Rally Champion After Hoima Finale

Hoima City roared with excitement as Ronald Ssebuguzi and co-driver Anthony Mugambwa sealed their place in Uganda’s rallying history, clinching the 2025 National Rally Championship (NRC) after securing a crucial 4th-place finish at the highly demanding UMOSPOC Kabalega Hoima Rally.

The duo entered the season finale with one clear mission finish the rally and secure the championship. And they did just that crossing the final flying finish in Hoima City to officially claim the title, marking Ssebuguzi’s fourth NRC crown, a feat that elevates him into the league of Uganda’s rallying legends such as Jas Mangat and Charlie Lubega.

Driving their powerful Ford Fiesta, Ssebuguzi and Mugambwa showcased remarkable consistency throughout the season. Speaking after the victory, Ssebuguzi admitted that the journey to the 2025 crown was not easy. He said “It has been a tough season for the entire team. We faced many challenges, but we stayed consistent, worked hard, and believed in ourselves. Crossing that final line in Hoima meant everything. Winning the title in our Ford Fiesta is a reward for all the effort we put in,”.

This year’s Kabalega Hoima Rally delivered a true test of endurance, with stages stretching across Hoima City and the rough terrains of Kikuube District. Many crews struggled, but Ssebuguzi and Mugambwa kept their focus, balancing pace with survival to secure the finish they desperately needed.

With the 2025 NRC victory, Ronald Ssebuguzi now stands tall among Uganda’s greatest rally drivers. His fourth national title confirms not only his exceptional skill behind the wheel but also his resilience and leadership in the sport.
