The spirit of regional unity will take center stage on November 22, 2025, as more than 200 golfers, including 40 visiting players from Kenya, gather at the Uganda Golf Club for the Kenya–KCB Golf Tournament, a flagship event of the Kenya Golf Day 2025 celebrations. Marking the lead-up to Kenya’s Independence Day on December 12, the tournament promises a vibrant blend of competition, culture, and camaraderie.

Players will compete across Groups A to C in both the ladies’ and men’s categories, ensuring a wide and inclusive field. Uganda Golf Club Captain Paul Charles Rukundo extended a warm welcome to participants and highlighted the tournament’s spirit of generosity. He affirmed that, while amateur rules prohibit cash prizes, golfers can expect an exciting array of rewards and a memorable event experience.
Kenya’s High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Josah Arthur Maagngi, underscored the diplomatic relevance of the tournament, noting that sports remain a powerful tool for bridging gaps and strengthening ties. He reiterated Kenya’s commitment to resolving boundary issues with neighboring countries while using sports engagements to promote unity and foster long-term regional cooperation.
KCB Bank, the event’s main sponsor, echoed this message of integration and cultural celebration. Commissioner Josah Agaangi said the tournament represents more than competitive golf, it symbolizes heritage, shared identity, and KCB’s footprint as a leading financial force in East Africa. The event, he noted, reinforces the bank’s mission of supporting regional initiatives that bring communities together.
With 50 golfers from various Kenyan clubs joining their Ugandan counterparts, the tournament is expected to create an electric atmosphere on and off the course. As anticipation builds, the Kenya–KCB Golf Tournament stands poised not only to showcase exceptional talent but also to strengthen the bonds that define East Africa’s sporting and cultural landscape.
