Uganda Airlines has launched an international search for top consultancy firms to advise on its next phase of fleet growth, signalling fresh ambition to cement its place among Africa’s competitive carriers.
The national airline has opened bidding for integrated technical, legal and financial advisory services to guide its aircraft acquisition programme. The tender, issued under open international bidding rules, underscores the government-owned carrier’s plan to expand and modernise operations in response to growing passenger demand and mounting regional competition.
According to the request for proposals, the selected advisers will steer the airline through key processes including procurement, financing, compliance and technical assessments. The documents are available from Uganda Airlines’ Procurement and Disposal Unit at Entebbe International Airport, with submissions due by midday on 2 October 2025.
Aviation analysts say the move reflects a more disciplined approach than in the past. “Uganda Airlines is showing it wants to get this right—bringing in seasoned experts to manage what is one of the most capital-intensive and complex undertakings in the industry,” one regional consultant told the BBC.
The tender is being run under Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority rules, aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability. Industry observers will now be watching closely to see which global advisers secure the contract—and how their guidance shapes Uganda Airlines’ future trajectory in both regional and intercontinental markets.
