Uganda Aquatics: Moses Mwase Begins Second Term

Today, Moses Mwase was officially sworn in as president of Uganda Aquatics by lawyer Angela Kobel, marking the start of his second term. His five-year tenure will run from 2025 to 2030.

At the swearing-in ceremony, President Mwase and his newly elected team received a crucial briefing from Donald Rukare, president of the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC). Rukare educated them on how to uphold the government’s Sports Law, Cap 151. This important workshop included club coaches, promoters, managers, and athletes, all gaining insights into good governance practices.

President Mwase emphasized that the guidance from “a scholar and member of the above committee” was incredibly valuable. It equipped them with the necessary ethics and governance knowledge to effectively lead the organization for the next five years. He also stressed the importance of teamwork, a strong work ethic, and unity to deliver on their promises to the Ugandan aquatics community. A key objective for the new team is to finalize the registration of the new act under Cap 151 before June 20th.

Tonny Kasujja

Tonny Kasujja, the 2nd Vice President for the 2025-2030 term, was also sworn in with the rest of the elected team. All members pledged to adhere to the law. Kasujja highlighted that “sports law has not come to subortage but rather to emphasize that activities in swimming are done accordingto the law,” assuring everyone that “the athletes are safely guarded and the events are on calendar, well followed and funds are well used as stipulated.”
