Uganda’s Football Elite: FUFA Awards 2024 Nominees Revealed

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has unveiled the nominees for its 2024 awards, celebrating Uganda’s top football talent. The announcement took place at a lively ceremony at the FUFA Complex in Mengo on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

The Best Male Player of the Year nominees are Patrick Jonah Kakande, Denis Omedi, Allan Okello, Jude Ssemugabi, and Ronald Ssekiganda. Vying for the Female Player of the Year award are Agnes Nabukenya, Daisy Nakaziro, Resty Kobusobozi, Shamirah Nalugya, and Zainah Nandede.

In the Coach of the Year category, the contenders include Brian Ssenyonjo, who led the Uganda Cubs to the U17 CECAFA championship; Dusan Stojanovic, who guided SC Villa to their 17th league title; and Hussein Mbalangu of NEC FC.

The 2025 FUFA Awards, themed “Celebrating Football Heroes, Inspiring Future Stars,” will be held on May 30, 2025, at the Serena Hotel in Kampala. Public voting begins on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
