Uganda’s national men’s and women’s pool teams are all chalked up and ready to dominate the table at the Africa Ultimate Pool Championship, set to cue off in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Officially flagged off by the National Council of Sports, the contingent includes 16 players and six officials , all driven by a shared hunger for continental glory.
Led by men’s team captain Rashid Wagaba, the Ugandan sides are brimming with confidence after wrapping up a series of high-intensity training sessions.
“We’ve prepared well, training for about three days, and I believe we’ll deliver in South Africa,” said Wagaba. “Every player on this team is incredibly talented. We’re ready.”
The men’s team features a formidable lineup of veterans including Wagaba himself, Simon Lubulwa, and Caesar Chandiga , names that have become synonymous with Ugandan pool excellence. Their presence adds firepower and composure to a team determined to bring home silverware.
On the women’s side, a perfect blend of youth and experience offers a dynamic edge. Seasoned cue queens Rashida Mutesi, Rita Nimusiima, and Marion Kisakye bring a wealth of experience to a squad eager to assert its dominance on the continental stage.
As Uganda steps up to the table among Africa’s best, the mission is clear: to break barriers, pocket victories, and raise the national flag high.
Let the games begin , Uganda is ready to shoot for glory.
