FUFA has received official confirmation that Ugandan match officials have been included on the FIFA Refereeing International Lists for 2026, marking another significant milestone for the country’s growing influence in global football officiating. The announcement, made on January 1, 2026, affirms Uganda’s steady rise in refereeing standards and its expanding footprint on the international stage.
The inclusion reflects years of deliberate investment by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in referee development, assessment, and international exposure. Through structured training programmes, performance monitoring, and regular engagement with CAF and FIFA courses, FUFA has steadily aligned Ugandan officials with global best practices, earning renewed confidence from world football’s governing body.

Uganda will be represented across multiple refereeing categories in 2026, enabling the selected officials to officiate at FIFA and CAF competitions throughout the international season. The referees named on the list are Kasalirwe Lucky Razake, Nabadda Shamirah, Okello Dick, Murungi Diana, Oloya William, Nantongo Josephine, Duula Joshua and Olemu George, an indication of both depth and balance, including strong female representation.
The assistant referees selected are Katenya Ronald, Ongiera Immaculate, Okudra Emmanuel, Nassolo Elizabeth, Mulindwa Hakim, Mutonyi Jane, Musisi Brianson, Nantabo Lydia Wanyama, Katerega Ashraf, Nayebare Babrah and Magoola Ashraf. Their inclusion underscores the growing recognition of Ugandan assistants for consistency, positioning and match control at elite levels.

Uganda has also secured slots in specialised disciplines. Nsubuga Brian Emmy and Sengendo Isaac have been listed as futsal referees, while Kintu Ivan Bayige, Ssenteza Muhammad, Kawagga Bazirio Kennedy and Munyendoh Joel Chote will represent the country in beach soccer. Collectively, the appointments signal not just individual excellence, but a maturing refereeing system, one that positions Uganda as a reliable contributor to international football officiating in 2026 and beyond.
