The USSSA Ball Games II reached a thrilling milestone on Day Five, with shocking eliminations in the netball disciplines leaving some giants in tears. The most stunning upset occurred in the Round of 16, where Namagabi SS pulled off a dramatic 25-24 win over Kawanda SS in a contentious match on Tuesday afternoon. The Kayunga-based team edged out Kawanda SS in a nail-biting contest, sparking controversy and a petition from the losing side.
According to Sharif Lulenzi, Namagabi SS’s tactician, the team’s success can be attributed to their unwavering confidence in each other. “I believe in my girls, and they believe in themselves, including their ability to take on Hamdan,” Lulenzi revealed. However, Kawanda SS disputed the result, alleging unfair play and requesting a rematch.
The tournament has seen its fair share of surprises, with several top teams crashing out in the early stages. The quarterfinal lineup promises more excitement, with matchups set to deliver thrilling encounters. Teams that were once seen as underdogs are now emerging as strong contenders, turning the tide of the championship.
