Morocco: Nigeria’s Michelle Alozie Scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner to beat defending champions South Africa 2-1 and book their place in the final
The Super Falcons had led in Casablanca through Rasheedat Ajibade’s penalty on the stroke of half-time but the holders fought back in the second half and levelled on the hour mark through a Linda Motlhalo’s spot-kick.
That was the first goal that Nigeria had conceded at this year’s finals and it knocked the nine-time champions out of their stride.
Nigeria now face hosts Morocco in Saturday’s final in Rabat.
Uganda’s Shamirah Nabadda currently in Morocco for the ongoing 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers, officiated her third match yesterday, including the tournament opener. Her sharp decision-making and composure under pressure have earned praise from both CAF officials and football fans. With her CHAN assignment coming just weeks after her Morocco stint, Nabadda is set for a demanding but career-defining spell on the continental stage.
