Kawempe Muslim Women Football Club has officially ushered in a new era with the unveiling of Waiswa Hamza as its Chief Executive Officer. Though the public announcement came today, Hamza revealed in an exclusive interview that he had quietly assumed his responsibilities in January 2025, opting for a low-profile transition before the club’s formal declaration.

With a decorated background in Ugandan football administration, Hamza steps into the role carrying significant pedigree. From 2020 to early 2025, he served in a strategic capacity at Kampala Queens. Before that, he was General Secretary of the Uganda Women Football Association and held a key leadership role at Jinja United Women Football Club, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the women’s football landscape in the country.
Speaking to ZaabuSports, Hamza expressed both confidence and reverence for his new appointment, describing Kawempe Muslim as a force in Ugandan football. “Of course, this excites me, working with the most powerful team in the country,” he said. “I’m soon laying my strategies and working hand-in-hand with my colleagues to raise the flag of Kawempe Muslim high.”
Hamza’s arrival signals a strategic shift for the club, known for its dominance in domestic women’s football and contribution to the national team. His early start behind the scenes hints at groundwork already laid to bolster the club’s competitive and structural outlook ahead of the next season.

As Kawempe Muslim embraces this fresh leadership, expectations are high for a renewed vision rooted in discipline, innovation, and community impact. Under Hamza’s guidance, the club aims not only to maintain its legacy but also to set a higher benchmark for women’s football across the continent.
