Partner schools working closely with Zaabu Sports have registered exceptional performance in the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, reaffirming the power of combining academics and athletics. As the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, officially released the results at State House Nakasero, it became evident that institutions embracing both education and sports development are producing well rounded achievers.

The schools attributed their success not only to academic rigor but also to structured scholarship programs that nurture talent while securing learners’ futures beyond sports.
At Kakungulu High School Bombo, Director Matovu Juma reported that all 153 candidates attained Result 1 under the new Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), marking a 100 percent qualification rate.

Similarly, Trust High School Gayaza celebrated outstanding success, with Deputy Headteacher Catherine Nabadda confirming that all 82 candidates excelled. She noted, “Our students performed to their best and we are proud of their excellence in both arts and sciences.” The school posted remarkable distinctions in Geography, followed closely by Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, demonstrating balanced excellence. She encouraged parents, students, and sportsmen and women to enroll as the next cohort of Form Five students prepares to report on 23rd February 2026.
At Nakifuma Modern Senior Secondary School, Hajji Ssessanga Edrisa Magala praised the learners’ strong performance and urged parents to entrust the institution with their children for a transformative academic journey.

St. Noah Girls School, another proud Zaabu Sports partner, also recorded impressive results, with a large number of candidates excelling in the examinations. Across these institutions, the message was consistent: when talent in sports is supported by quality education, students thrive holistically.
According to Uganda National Examinations Board Executive Director Dan Odongo, “Achievement levels in UCE2025 have improved compared to that of 2024. The overall results show that 428,628 99.69% of the candidates who sat in 2025 qualified for the UCE certificate.” These results come amid ongoing assessment of the Competency Based Curriculum, which aims to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem solving skills essential for the 21st century.

For Zaabu Sports, the results affirm a long held belief that there is life after sports. Through scholarships and strategic partnerships including access to bursary opportunities from institutions such as Nile Basin Institute, young athletes from less privileged backgrounds are using their talents as a bridge to academic achievement. By integrating education with sports development, Zaabu Sports continues to unlock doors of opportunity, proving that discipline on the field can translate into excellence in the classroom and lasting success beyond the game.
