Nakifuma Modern SS Grants Full Bursary to Rising Star Nalubega Eron
In a groundbreaking move to nurture young talent, Nakifuma Modern Secondary School has awarded a four-year full bursary to Nalubega Eron, a promising young athlete, through the school’s director, Hajji Edrisa Ssessanga. This initiative, announced at his Kireka office, underscores the school’s unwavering commitment to promoting both sports and education.
In a bid to revamp its sports programs, Nakifuma Modern SS has reintroduced football as a core discipline among the bursary-eligible sports, aligning with its budgetary plans. Other games benefiting from this initiative include netball, handball, and more, fostering a well-rounded sporting culture among students.
Schools Rally Behind Zaabu Sports’ Mission
Nakifuma Modern SS is not alone in championing the dreams of young athletes. Kakungulu High School -Bombo has also extended strong support to Zaabu Sports, a renowned organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing talented athletes. Notably, a Form Six candidate, Constance Adikini, has been a beneficiary, following in the footsteps of other exceptional students who excelled last year under the same initiative.
Similarly, Trust High School has consistently supported Zaabu Sports’ mission. Last year, the school sponsored a Senior Four student, Asiimwe Julian,who upon excelling, is set to pursue high school education at Trust High School, Gayaza.
Expanding Horizons: University Collaborations and International Pathways
Beyond secondary education, Zaabu Sports has forged partnerships with prestigious universities to secure higher education opportunities for its athletes. Kampala International University offers half bursaries, while Ndejje University recently saw a female athlete, Ambejja Abigail, graduated with a bachelor’s degree under these scholarship programs.
On an international scale, North Carolina University (USA) has joined forces with Zaabu Sports to scout and mentor young footballers with the potential to compete at top-tier levels. The program specifically targets players who have:
