Buddo SS Reign Supreme Again: Kings of the 2025 USSSA U-20 Football Jungle!

Buddo Secondary School has done it again, grabbed the 2025 USSSA U-20 Boys’ football title like it was their birthright, third time of a kind! If school football had royalty, Buddo would be wearing the crown, cape, and probably designer boots too. With swagger, skill, and a sprinkle of football magic, they danced through the tournament, leaving defenders dizzy and fans screaming for more.

The grand finale at Kakindu Stadium was a blockbuster worthy of a Netflix series. Buddo SS squared off with long-time rivals St. Mary’s Kitende in a match that had everything: speed, drama, sweat, and yes, tears. Buddo fired in a stunning opener, but Kitende came back clawing. After a tense 0-0 draw, it all boiled down to penalties. And just like in every good underdog story, Buddo’s keeper turned into a superhero, saving the day and securing a 6-5 shootout win.

Coach Sulaiman Mutyaba, looking like a proud dad at graduation, couldn’t stop smiling. “These boys play like they were born on a football pitch,” he joked, adding that their winning formula was equal parts talent, discipline, and “eating posho on time.” He also gave a nod to the tough competition, calling this year’s tournament “no walk in the park, but more like running through a forest full of lions.”

Individual brilliance also shone bright. Buddo SS’s very own Mukisa Owen was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), dazzling crowds with footwork that had defenders dancing against their will. Obale Rogers of SMASK (St. Mary’s Kitende) walked away with the Best Goalkeeper award, his gloves seemingly glued to every shot fired his way. And stealing hearts—and goals—Tumwine Mubarak of Masaka SS claimed the Top Scorer crown, reminding everyone that the net is just a canvas for his finishing artistry.

With the trophy polished and packed, Buddo now gears up to take their show to the East Africa Secondary Schools Games. Scouts are already circling like hawks, eyeing Buddo’s golden boys for future stardom. Word on the pitch is that a few of them even practice free kicks in their sleep.

Back at Buddo, celebrations are still on. The school promised to keep investing in football because, let’s face it, trophies don’t win themselves. With talent, teamwork, and a hint of cheeky brilliance, Buddo SS isn’t just playing football, they’re rewriting the story of school sports, one goal at a time.
