Uganda Cranes’ planned international friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar have been officially cancelled, following a statement released by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA). The decision affects fixtures that were expected to help the team prepare during the international break.

According to FUFA, the cancellation has been made in response to heightened public health considerations, particularly the ongoing concerns surrounding the spread of Ebola in Uganda. Authorities emphasized that the move is precautionary and aimed at safeguarding players, officials, and the general public.
The Cranes squad is already in Marrakech, Morocco, where they were set to continue their preparations. Despite the disruption, the team is expected to adjust its training program and explore alternative arrangements to maintain match fitness during the break.
The cancelled fixtures were seen as a key opportunity for Uganda to test itself against regional rivals Tanzania and Madagascar ahead of upcoming competitive assignments. Their withdrawal now leaves a gap in the planned international calendar for the team.
FUFA is expected to communicate further updates regarding possible replacement fixtures or revised preparations, as the national team continues its camp under strict health and safety monitoring.
