Kenya is also proudly represented by the talented Tinashe Gatimu, another rising force proving that women are increasingly making their mark in African rallying. Together with her co-driver Caroline Gatimu, she adds further strength to the growing female presence in the championship.
Their participation sends a strong message that motorsport is becoming more inclusive, with women continuing to break barriers in one of the world’s most demanding sports. Their confidence, determination and competitive spirit were evident throughout the ceremonial start, earning loud cheers from fans gathered in Kigali.
With the formalities complete, attention now shifts to the competitive stages. The real battle begins today and continues through tomorrow as Africa’s best rally crews chase victory on the challenging roads of Rwanda.
For motorsport fans, this weekend is about more than speed and trophies. It is also a celebration of women who continue to inspire the next generation by proving that courage, talent and determination know no gender.
