Mavid Pharmaceutical Boosts UMEA Solidarity Games with Shs 6 Million Sponsorship

With just a few days to go before the UMEA Solidarity Games kick off at Namagabi SS Kayunga, the event organizers have received a significant boost from Mavid Pharmaceutical Company. On Monday, April 14th, the company handed over a Shs 6 million sponsorship deal to the games organizers at their offices on Makay Road in Kampala.

The funds will be used to procure equipment and cover expenses for the opening ceremony, scheduled for Friday, April 17th. Over 150 teams from 60 schools have confirmed their participation in the championship, which will run from April 17th to 21st.

Hajj Twahir Kitezaala, the games organizer, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, saying, “Earning sponsorship in Uganda can be challenging, but today we’ve secured one from Mavid Pharmaceutical. We’ll ensure the funds are used for the intended purposes.”

Dr. Aisha Bukenya, representing Mavid Pharmaceutical, emphasized the company’s commitment to promoting health through sports. “As a pharmaceutical company, we believe sports is crucial for improving health status. We’re excited to partner with UMEA Solidarity Games and look forward to a long-term collaboration with potential for future enhancements.”

The partnership aims to continue beyond this year’s games, with possibilities of increased support in the future.
