Uganda’s Ssemujju Frank Wyne Selected for Prestigious IHF B License Course in Cairo

In a major stride for Ugandan handball, Ssemujju Frank Wyne, the Head Coach of Kampala University Handball Club and National Trainer, has been selected to participate in the International Handball Federation (IHF) B License Coaching Course in Cairo, Egypt. The 10-day program, running from April 6 to 16, 2025, aims to equip elite coaches with advanced tactical, technical, and managerial skills vital for modern handball development.

Coach Ssemujju, a respected figure in the local handball scene, previously served as head coach of the Police Handball Club and currently holds an IHF C License. His invitation to this prestigious training is a testament to his dedication, tactical acumen, and consistent contributions to the sport. This opportunity not only represents personal growth but also signals a leap forward in Uganda’s bid to raise coaching standards to international benchmarks.

Upon successful completion of the course, Ssemujju will join a select group of elite coaches, becoming only the second Ugandan to earn the IHF B License. This milestone underscores the Uganda Handball Federation’s (UHF) commitment to building technical depth and elevating the quality of handball coaching across the country. His upgraded credentials will be crucial in mentoring upcoming coaches and elevating team performance both domestically and internationally.

Speaking on the development, Jimmy Olutin, Head of the Coaching and Competition Management (CCM) at the UHF, expressed confidence in Ssemujju’s potential impact. “Coach Ssemujju’s drive for excellence mirrors our Federation’s vision of empowering local talent and enhancing our national teams’ competitive edge. His success in Cairo will be a victory for Ugandan handball as a whole.”
