Vipers SC capped a remarkable Uganda Premier League season in emphatic fashion after sealing their eighth league crown with a commanding 2-0 victory over Express at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, completing an extraordinary campaign in front of a jubilant home crowd. The Venoms not only lifted the 2025/26 title on home turf but also underlined their dominance by stretching an unbeaten run that lasted the entire league season on the pitch, a feat that defined their supremacy.

Goals from Karim Watambala and substitute Gusto Mulongo powered the champions to victory on coronation day, as captain Milton Karisa eventually hoisted the trophy amid scenes of celebration. Watambala broke the deadlock from the penalty spot shortly after the restart before Mulongo’s composed finish put the result beyond doubt, allowing Vipers to close the season on 67 points, five clear of nearest challengers KCCA.

Addressing supporters during the post-match thanksgiving ceremony, club patron Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa urged fans to embrace Ugandan football with greater pride, encouraging them to view European leagues as a source of inspiration while placing stronger loyalty behind domestic clubs. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the squad ahead of the upcoming continental assignments, with preparations expected to begin through the CECAFA Kagame Cup build-up programme.
Mulindwa further rewarded the title-winning squad with a Shs300 million bonus, fulfilling an earlier pledge tied to league success. The celebrations extended beyond football as supporters filled the stadium in club colours while music performances and festivities transformed Kitende into a carnival atmosphere, highlighting the growing connection between the club and its fan base.

With the new season scheduled to begin in August, Vipers now shift focus toward continental ambitions carrying the confidence of a campaign built on resilience and consistency. Their unbeaten march from the opening phase to the final whistle of the season has not only delivered silverware but also established a benchmark that could shape the next chapter of the club’s rise on the regional stage.
