Vipers SC stormed to their second successive Uganda Premier League title after a commanding 3-0 victory over Maroons FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, officially wrapping up the 2025/26 championship with a game to spare. The triumph confirms the Venoms’ continued dominance in Ugandan football and delivers another major milestone for the Kitende-based side.

The champions struck almost immediately as Yunus Sentamu reacted quickest inside the opening minute to slot home from close range and hand Vipers a dream start. Maroons attempted to respond and created moments of promise, but the visitors remained composed and in control throughout much of the contest.

Just before the halftime whistle, Usama Arafat doubled the advantage after his effort took a decisive deflection beyond the Maroons goalkeeper, leaving Vipers within touching distance of the title. The second goal shifted momentum firmly in favour of the visitors as they headed into the break with one hand already on the trophy.
Any hopes of a Maroons comeback were extinguished in the second half when Abdul Karim Watambala capitalised on defensive hesitation to fire home Vipers’ third goal. The emphatic result lifted the champions to 64 points after 29 matches and secured the club’s eighth league crown, further strengthening their status among Uganda’s elite sides.

The title success also caps a memorable period for the club after their women’s counterparts, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, recently captured the Finance Trust FUFA Women Super League crown. Both teams are now set to represent Uganda on the continental stage next season, while Vipers will officially celebrate their latest triumph during the final league fixture against Express FC in Kitende.
