The cricket fields of Gulu crackled with excitement as Matchday 4 unfolded! In a nail-biting, rain-affected thriller, Masindi SS snatched a four-run victory from Gayaza High in a five-over slugfest. Meanwhile, Masaka SS showcased their bowling prowess, defending a modest score against Mt. Rwenzori SS thanks to Caroline Mbambu’s impressive three-wicket haul, though her efforts weren’t enough to secure the win for her team.

Home advantage proved crucial for Gulu High, who defended their total against Good Heart SS, securing their first win of the tournament. Elsewhere, Ndejje SS bounced back in style, dismantling Nyakasura School with Alexander Nassuna’s brilliant bowling and Blessing Apio’s composed batting in a rain-shortened encounter.

Over in Group B, Olila High School continued their dominant run, securing their sixth consecutive victory with a commanding performance against Mt. St. Henry’s High School. Immaculate Nandera led the charge with the ball, while Joan Ilora’s unbeaten knock sealed the win. Jinja SS also impressed, their top order firing to secure a comfortable DLS victory over St. James SS.

Not all matches escaped the clutches of the weather, however, as the clash between Masaka SS and Light SS was abandoned due to rain. Similarly, the match between Sacred Heart SS and St. John’s SS was also called off, leaving both teams to share the points.

The Group A standings see Olila High School sitting comfortably at the top with 24 points, followed by Jinja SS with 17. In Group B, Masaka SS lead with 18 points after six matches, with Sacred Heart SS trailing with 13 points but having played two fewer games. The action continues to heat up as the tournament progresses!
